What should I do about this horrible cat?

There is this cat that keeps coming into my garage to eat my cats' food and he even comes into the house. He's a bully and terrorizes my three cats. I have a cat door that he is coming in and as soon as he sees a human or one of my dogs he rushes out of the house. I noticed that he has a collar, but I never can get near him. I don't want to block off the cat door since my cats need it. My husband is so exasperated with this cat that he wants to pop it with a bee bee gun. Of sourse I don't want this. I suggested trapping it with a live trap and taking it to the pound. If I could find out who the owners are I'd like to talk to them, but don't know if it would do any good. Please help.

i agree with the humane trap, and than ask your neighbors if the cat is there's and if no one claims it, send it to the pound, i know it sounds cruel but if someone can keep track of their cat than its not your problem
Reply:First of all, tell your husband to take a chill pill and sit down. Now then, being that you can't get near the cat to read the tag, live trapping sounds like your best bet. Maybe place some signs up somewhere along side your street. Maybe even go as far as to put an ad in craigslist. It's free. Couldn't hurt.

Good luck

to husband: You young man are supposed to be sitting.
Reply:I like the idea of trapping it with a humane trap. Also, you could try to ask your neighbors to see who might own the cat.
Reply:maybe put up signs arounds your neighborhood to see who's cat it is. also set up some cat food and tasty treats and make sure your cats are inside and have people waiting to just trap that cat inside and then see if you can get information on the collar.
Reply:You should stand outside in some bushes (out of sight) and when you see the kitty go in the garage you put kitty door cover over the door. Then you go in through the house and carefully open the door (as to not let the kitty get in your house) and BAM you got yourself a kitty. Then you examine the ID tag and call the owners (or animal control, wichever you prefer) and BAM Kitty problem solved! Good luck!
Reply:The cat wears a collar so its obvious it lives in the area. Trapping the cat isn't going to help matters and having a word with the cats owner isn't going to help matters because at the end of the day cats are cats and they do pretty much what they want. I think the only solution here is to really scare the cat off everytime you see it, either shout like mad a run at it or have a water pistol and shoot it with that, it will soon be too scared to come around your place after a while! I have a catflap and the local well fed cats try their luck in my place but I soon scare them off as do my own cats.

Good Luck :o)
