My 2 chihuahuas bark excessively...help!?

My female taught her son, (chihuahuas), how to be a problem barker! Seriously! They bark at everyone who walks past my home. They sit on the back of the couch, %26amp; go bananas when anyone passes by. I live on a corner, so when people pass, my dogs run through the house, into my bedroom, (following them), %26amp; continue to bark. As the person turns the corner, my dogs run outside (if the sliders are open), into the back yard, %26amp; continue barking while the individual is still in view! I've tried water guns, startling them by shaking pennies in a can, scaring them with a rolled-up newspaper. Then I bought a sonic siren-thing, that's supposed to be very loud for dogs, %26amp; startle them into silence. No deal! My final try was an electronis collar, (which I don't approve of), but they're not made small enough for chihuahuas! Aside from popping them in the microwave, (JUST KIDDING), I don't know what to do. We may sell the house %26amp; move into a condo, %26amp; I KNOW I'll have a problem with their barking!

Chihuahuas bark. Seriously, I don't say that to treat you like you are stupid, but it's a breed trait. They obviously aren't the highest quality dogs, so their temperaments are also probably condusive to it.





Get a professional trainer that can help you start over with them. Teaching YOU techniques that can distract the dogs may help.





But again, chihuahuas bark. Sometimes excessively. If it's a problem, you shouldn't have gotten this breed - much less bred a BYB dog and create more badly tempered dogs.








Edit: I just read your other question. Good god, how many Chis do you have and are you breeding? Puppy Mill anyone? Your newborn pup died because you wouldn't take it to a vet (there are emergency vets) - this AFTER your year old pup went through the same thing! Fix your damn dogs, woman! Have you no conscience?
Reply:some dogs just bark a lot i have a dog that if he hears something up stairs or sees my other dog bark he will run over and bark, he barks at the coffee maker, the dishwasher, when someone walks by or in the house. If you want to try to stop him from barking try to tell him how its bad to bark, and scoled him a little, he might learn its not good to bark, but some dogs just want to be tough and own the house. when i walk my dog he will bark at anyone he sees until i leave my block.

They are so small but they make up for it by barking and giving off this "IM BIG!" attitude..





Id recommend that dog whisperer guy, not liek call him in, but watch some of his videos and see if any of those methods work for you..





Also Try correcting them the second it starts. Or find methods to prevent them from doing it, liek keeping your bedroom door closed or the sliders closed..
